GODSPY
Forums Rules of Conduct

Thank you for your interest in the Godspy Discussion Forums. To learn more about Godspy's misssion, see the About Us page. To ensure a respectful forum community, we ask members to follow certain rules. These rules apply specifically to the Godspy Forums, and are in addition to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for the Godspy website.

Participation Indicates Agreement With These Rules Of Conduct

In using the Godspy Forums, you agree to be bound by the following rules and conditions. You also agree that the information you provide when you join is accurate. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not register or participate in the Godspy Forums.

Our Principles

While GODSPY is edited from an orthodox Catholic perspective, the forums are open to all people of good will. When you participate in discusssions on the GODSPY forums, you may encounter persons with beliefs very different than your own. We hope you will respond to these encounters in a spirit of charity, accepting that we are all made in the image and likeness of God, and respecting each person's freedom to express their opinions in a civil manner, even when you believe they are wrong.

GODSPY is committed to candid and open discussion and debate. We will not censor members for expressing an opinion, within the limits of these Rules of Conduct. We will take action against any behavior that disrupts conversations and community on the Site. GODSPY has the right, but not the obligation, to remove or move any member-generated content for any reason, without notice. These Rules of Conduct reflect the standards of behavior our members find acceptable. Only those persons who provide their consent to these Rules of Conduct can register as a member of the GODSPY forums.

You might want to spend some time following discussions ("lurking") before you participate. Discussions are more rewarding when users post messages relating to the discussion topic and avoid repetitive or excessively lengthy posts. If you would like to give us feedback about the Godspy site, or are interested in submitting an article to for possible publication, e-mail us at

The Right To Move, Edit, Or Delete Posts

Godspy believes in free expression and active and open debate; we do, however, expect Forums members to follow rules that protect other users and persons from the invasion of their rights and privacy. Godspy has no obligation to monitor the forums, or any submissions or other materials that you or other third parties transmit or post in the Forums. Godspy does, however, have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the Forums and the materials you transmit or post. Should you violate or allow another person to use your account to violate any of the following rules, Godspy reserves the right to move, edit, or delete your post or discussion thread:

  1. Posts that are defamatory, libelous, unnecessarily antagonistic, or an invasion of privacy or violation of the rights of another user, person, or party.
  2. Posts that are obscene, abusive, harassing, threatening, off-topic, unintelligible, or inappropriate, as determined by our moderators.
  3. Posts that are in violation of copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws, as determined by the moderators. Simply because material is available on the Internet does not mean it is in the public domain; most materials are protected by law. In addition, simply including attribution does not permit users to post copyrighted materials on the forum; only extremely short excerpts or hyperlinks are generally permitted.
  4. Posts in violation of local, state, United States or international law.
  5. Posts promoting, soliciting for, advertising for, referring to, or hyperlinking to commercial products, programs, or services; including contests, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or commercial enterprises. Godspy is designed for discussion and debate.
  6. Posts which are submitted repetitively, without any bearing on the discussion topic, or otherwise deliberately disrupting the forums ("spamming").
  7. Posts which attempt to impersonate or fraudulently represent another user, person, or party.
  8. Posts which are in a language other than English.
  9. Posts which include viruses or any other contaminating or destructive feature that may damage another person's computer.
  10. Posts which include graphics, audio, movies, JavaScript or programs, or other binary files. The forums are designed to be text-only.
  11. Posts which are determined by Godspy and third parties employed or directed by it, to be otherwise objectionable.

Godspy has the right, but not the obligation, to remove any material from the forum which we, at our sole discretion, feel is not appropriate.

The Right To Remove Users

Every message in the Godspy Forums is automatically labeled with your User Name. Godspy reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to remove the posting privileges and/or eject a user permanently from the discussion forum for:

  1. Violating the posting rules set forth in the previous section.
  2. Impersonating or fraudulently representing another user, person, or party.
  3. Theft or fraudulent use of another user's account or password.
  4. Using an invalid or outdated e-mail address in one's forum preferences.
  5. Registering a new account with a free e-mail address.
  6. Using words or phrases as part of one's login name that are determined by Godspy staff to be obscene, threatening, or otherwise offensive.
  7. Registering more than one login name at a time.
  8. Violating any portion of the terms of service set forth herein.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We hope to see you in the Godspy Forums.
