How are the Forums organized?

There are three main areas of the forums. The first area is the main page, which
you get to from the main navigation bar on the home page, labeled Forums. It
displays the forum categories. These areas of discussion correspond to the
different editorial sections of the Godspy site

The second key area of the forums is the topic or thread listing for a
particular category. These topics either correspond to articles in Godspy, or
are free-form topics generated by Godspy editors or forum members. The third
area are the messages themselves within each topic. A topic and the messages and
replies associated with it are called a "thread."

How do I view posts?

To view messages in the forum, navigate into a category and click on a topic
that interests you. A list of messages will appear. If the number of messages in
that topic exceeds the number of messages that can be displayed on a page, you
will see page numbers at the top and bottom of the screen. This will help you in
navigating through the page(s) of messages.

Every message consists of the following features: the message body, the posted
date, the author of the message, and toolbars at the top right and bottom right
of the screen. For a description of the fields found in these toolbars, see the
Help section on the forum menu bar.

How do I post a new topic?

To post a new topic, enter into a category where you would like to create your
topic and click the 'new topic' tab on the menu. The Post a Message form will
appear, where you can enter the topic title and description. Press on the 'Post
Message' button when completed.

Above the message box, you will see a toolbar with symbols like "B" and "I".
This toolbar allows quick access to bolding text, changing fonts to italics,
underlining text, and putting links around words/sentences. You may also select
an icon that describes the mood of your post. And to subscribe to the thread,
click on the button in the upper right of the message.

For a list of fields in this form and their descriptions, see the Help section
found on the forums menu bar.

How do I reply to a post?

To reply to a message, click the 'Reply' or 'Quote' button located in each
message within a thread. The difference between the two options is that by
pressing the 'Quote' button, the original message is automatically added to the
beginning of your reply message. Your can format your reply just as you would a
new post.

Can I edit a post?

Yes, you can edit a message that you have posted. To do this, navigate within
the forums to locate your posted message. At the bottom right of the message,
there is an 'Edit' link. Click on this link and the Edit Message form will
appear.

How do I search within the Godspy forums?

You can search the forum for threads and messages that are of particular
interest to you by clicking on the Search button found on the forums menu bar.
See the Help section for descriptions of the search fields and their functions.

What is the Today page?

The Today page contains current announcements from the editors, as well as a
summary of what is currently happening in the forums as it relates to the user.
If you subscribe to threads, or have private messages, these will be displayed
here. Hot Threads is defined by how many messages are in a thread. Also listed
are the twenty most recent messages that you've posted to the forum, as well as
the ten users who have posted the most messages.

How do I send a private message to other Godspy forum members?

Private Messaging allows users to send each other messages that can only be read
by the recipient. To send a private message to someone, go to their post and
click on the Send Private Message icon on the message toolbar. Type your
message and press 'Send Message'. For more information about private messaging,
see the Help function on the forums menu bar.

What is the Whos On function?

Within the pick list menu located above the menu bar to the right, is a link,
"WHO'S ON", which directs you to a list of users who are currently logged in.
This information is accurate to approximately 15 minutes. You can view User
profiles, send e-mail, or send a private message to any one of these users, if
they have enabled these functions within their profile.
