I was having a good time dating men who had no idea I was an undercover virginuntil I was outed by Rolling Stone magazine. Thats when I discovered what real chastity was all about.
Oh how right you are. The darkened corners of our life, will always come to light when given the means to illuminate. I believe that difficulties arise, when we implement past ways of being, which in most cases are predicated upon our entire upbringing. When we ask , "how do I choose to live, to walk, to breathe. to believe, to act", that bears upon us the personal reponsibility of choice. Certainly, when we apply the unconscious learned ways of dating, those models, are models that do not correspond to treating each other as " brother and sister", we enter at that point into a "contract" , that is questionable. It is refreshing to read that what you have gathered through this revelation, has the possibility of being shared with all Catholics, who are single and searching for a significant beginning with another. Maybe this should be required reading for all Catholics Online. It takes time to learn that honesty at the start, is a much healthier path. That our choices, are the inventory of our lives and that from time to time we will be called on to address that inventory with GOD.
Please. The phrase "lack of a sex life" is akin to "lack of a life" and surrenders to the reduction of sex to genital activity. Sex is a much broader than use of physical organs.
Peter Kreeft in Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Heaven, but Never Dreamed of Asking talks about "the sex life of a nun." It sounds naughty, but if you think about it, each person's sex is essential to all of his actions, even those that aren't "sexual" in the modern sense. A chaste nun employs her sex in everything she does; nowhere does it say that she leaves behind being a woman when she takes the veil. It is in fact part of her vocation to live out her femininity in a higher way than those who are not celibate.
Words are important. Please don't surrender the word "sex" to those who would denigrade it.
